The winner of this year’s Hope university / Arena studios residency, Rachel Ferguson, will be exhibiting her work produced over the past two weeks at Arena.
This exhibition contributes to the discussion of how a piece of policing legislation known as section 60 has been integrated into society. Raising the question if the idea of judging someone based on their appearance is not only part of police legislation but has become part of our daily lives. My work challenges the idea of what society believe they are able to tell from someones appearance by confronting them with a visual representation of snap judgments.
You are invited to the private view of this exhibition between 6.00 and 8.00pm on Thursday 6th July at Arena Studios and Gallery.
