Stephanie Miello – Depending on What’s There

Stephanie Miello has been undertaking a one month residency with Arena Studios and Gallery, which was awarded as a graduate’s prize by Liverpool Hope University.   Stephanie has been working in the Arena Gallery to develop her artistic practice and the residency will culminate in an opening evening where she will exhibit a site specific sculpture and accompanying development work.

Stephanie says, “My work experiments with two specific mediums sculpture and installation. The aim is to create a physical connection between the viewer and the environment where the work is realised, often working in response to the existing qualities of the surrounding space. I use delicate and ephemeral materials such as light, shadows, string, wood and glue to emphasise the spatial qualities of a single line and ideas are often explored through the concept of three dimensions drawing, which develops without having a set rule or theme”.
