Arena Studios and Gallery invites artists to submit work for their 2016 auction. This is an opportunity for artists to promote their work and sell to members of the public. The auction will take place on Thursday 21st July at the Baltic Social. Artists may submit up to 3 works for inclusion in the auction. Arena Studios and Gallery will retain 30% of any money realised at the auction with 70% paid to the artist after the sale.
Initial submissions should be made by email before Tuesday 21st June to firstname.lastname@example.org. Attachments should be good quality jpeg images (these images will be used in the on-line catalogue). Artist may specify a reserve price for the auction. If you put on a reserve it will be taken into account in the selection process. The aim is to find work that will sell and very high reserves prevent work being sold (people attending these auctions are looking to acquire art at reasonable prices).
Please include the following information; name; contact number; title of work; medium; size; any reserve price and include “auction submissions” in the subject heading.
A group of Arena members will select work for the next round and their decision will be final. Please understand that due to time restraints at the auction we will only be able to accept a limited number of works.
Artists will be notified if accepted for inclusion in the next round by Friday 1st July
Artists whose works have been selected for the next round will be invited to deliver work to Arena in the week beginning Monday 4th July. Specific times and dates will be included in your acceptance letter. Items should be well wrapped and labeled. While Arena will take every care of work, artists should arrange their own insurance cover for damage or theft. Any work rejected at this stage must be collected from Arena by Friday 15th July.
After the auction any unsold work should be collected by 5th August.
If you have any questions please email Arena at email@example.com.
