An exhibition by James Lockhart

Open to the public 28th and 29th June, 4th, 5th 6th July, 11am – 5pm
James Lockhart is an artist born in Liverpool and based in the North West. After studying for his BA in fine art at The University of Chester, James then went on to complete two successful residencies at the University and The City of Liverpool College. Taking two years out to take on the artist in residence positions James has now been accepted at Liverpool John Moores University to start an MA in Fine Art in 2014.
James’ concerns are with site specific installations which include sculptural and text based art, for public interaction and visual examination. He goes on to say, “The sensory importance of my work is the most valuable aspect of what I am trying to achieve within my practice”.
The show kicks of Arena’s programme of exhibitions running along side the 2014 Liverpool Biennial, an exhibition which invites international artists to exhibit in a number of venues across the city and features partner events including the Bloomberg New Contemporaries and the John Moores Painting Prize.
